The hotel is exactly as described: it has everything you might need when staying in Himeji. My highlights: Location: The location is fab, only about 7 mins walk from the station and surrounded by small, authentic Japanese restaurants and shops. It's a 25 minute walk to Himeji castle and Art Museum. Breakfast: The included breakfast is great (you need to be up early for it though), and has a wide range of Japanese (rice, tofu/meat burgers, miso soup, salmon, salads) and Western (pastries, sausages, juices) foods. They also have bento boxes that you can pack food into if you want to take the breakfast to go or eat it in your room. Price: It's a super reasonable price for great facilities. Room: Clean, bright, well-equipped (TV, fridge, wifi, reading lamps, hangers, unit bathroom, kettle etc.) and the bed was comfortable. Staff: The staff are friendly and helpful. Check in/out: It's all automated, you can use the machines which I found convenient. Luggage: They'll keep your luggage too, which made my last day much easier.

Toyoko hotel was a typical sized Japanese hotel. We rented two rooms to host four people. The check in process was via consul, but the staff were there to help keep the check in process going. The hotel is very close to the Himeji station (5-8 minute walk) and a 15 minute walk from the Himeji castle. We were lucky enough to be there for the cherry blossoms and the associated festival. We found the included breakfast to be robust offering mostly Japanese fair, but they had pastries and some other options Western like options including eggs (rolled in a Japanese fashion) and sausages. The breakfast was buffet style and the cooks on site were very friendly. I noted that foreigners were the minority at the breakfast, and I got the sense that this hotel chain is popular with Japanese business people. We did find the beds to be on the hard side and on the uncomfortable side for those with hips. However, I would definitely book with them again.

Twin Room for 2 nights. The room was a standard twin room, big enough as we had no big luggage. Beds were very firm. Breakfast was good, of course japanese style. Not many amenities in the room, but everything you might need is available at front desk. Locaton is good, just a short walk from the station. Be aware that there are two Toyoko Inns on every side of the station.

Well situated close to the station and the centre of the city. Only a 15 minute walk to the castle. Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and had everything in it you would expect to find in a modern hotel. Breakfast was included in the price.

We enjoyed seeing the trains outside our high floor room. Fortunately the sound proofing was quite good, so we were not bothered by noise. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful! The buffet breakfast included a wide variety of Japanese dishes. It was nice to have a large bed. Easy walk to the castle.
